2003-04-05 | 10:31 a.m. | brief update
	long time, no write, eh? so what's happened since...say...january? well, marty got laid off. downsized. you know. right now we're not really worried about being able to pay bills or anything, but the future isn't as promising as it was. it's just something to work through, i guess. i'm looking for a better job, or at least one that pays a little better. the only problem is that if i do leave for another job it could be two weeks to a month before i get a new paycheck, and i won't have benefits for three months. apparently my good pal jenny says that the ten-year cycle is starting back up and people we went to high school with are resurfacing in town. it's funny to see how people have ended up in life ten years after dramaville (a.k.a. high school). i'll still claim to be a dominatrix. so i'm at work right now...obviously not working...because one of the guys that works with me ruptured his hemmoroids. poor guy. the sad thing is that he stayed until the end of the day. why? because my company has taken away sick time, and if you don't request time off at least 24 hours in advance then it's a strike against you. this could lead to disciplinary action and termination. naturally he told our boss he'd be gone for the rest of the week so that his absence wouldn't count against him. the only problem is that work gets busier with one person gone. so now i'm here to catch up on the things that should have been done but there wasn't time. it's very nice to be here when other people aren't. there's nobody to distract you and interrupt. yay. well, i've got to get on. i'll keep you informed. ~Mari	Last Next Older Rings Profile Calendar Email me The Land of Diaries
